Many artists from the past, as well as some from the present, notably Jack Vetriano and Robert Lenkiewicz have used candlelight to achieve an element of drama in their compositions. Artist Stephen Bower will give an illustrated talk showing how this technique has been employed by different artists including Georges de la tour, Gerrit van Honthorst, Joseph Wright of Derby, Carravaggio and Rembrandt van Rijn.
